Pace Athletics Partners with Northern Westchester Hospital

From the Pace University Department of Athletics:

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Pace University Athletics has established a partnership with Northern Westchester Hospital that will enable the department to provide student athletes with access to high-quality medical care to address sports related injuries. Northern Westchester Hospital, which was recently named as one of the Best Regional Hospital’s by U.S. News & World Report and one of the highest quality hospitals in the country by The Joint Commission, will work together with the Pace Sports Medicine staff to address medical issues that arise throughout the school year. 

“This is an important step forward for the future of Pace Athletics. As a department, we are taking a proactive stance against common athletic related medical issues such as concussions and providing top medical care for our student-athletes” states Mark Brown, Director of Athletics.

Northern Westchester Hospital is a leader in the field in regards to emergency treatment with their state of the art facility located in Mt. Kisco, NY. The new Mary and David Boies Emergency Department provides premium support for any medical issue which includes three distinct areas for adults, pediatrics and behavioral health patients and also a fast track area for patients who need urgent care. Pace Athletes who need emergency treatment will have this facility available to them as well as on field assistance for select games on campus that require a larger medical staff.

On campus, the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) combined with the student group Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) will launch the second year of the Pace Goes Pink campaign in support of Northern Westchester Hospital’s Breast Institute. Both student groups work collaboratively at six home athletic events throughout the school year to sell t-shirts and pink sweatbands to support the cancer center and raise awareness. The next Pace Goes Pink event will be this Saturday Oct. 13 as the Pace Soccer team takes on Southern New Hampshire; kick-off is scheduled for 12 pm.
