Great Escape: A Group Exercise Class at Club Fit

Have fun while staying fit.

Socialize. Get fit. Have fun.

So many moms made these resolutions at the beginning of the year (including yours truly), but we weren’t quite sure how to get started. Well, how about meeting all of those goals with some body rolling, spinning or ‘dance ‘n funk’ at in Briarcliff?

Club Fit offers a long list of group exercise classes that include fitness favorites such as stepping, pilates, cardio pump and body rolling. And some of the club’s most high-energy classes include Dance ‘n Funk, zumba and kickboxing. There are also yoga and meditation classes for moms hoping to have a more relaxing experience at the gym. You'll be building strength and burning calories in no time.

In addition to the physical benefits of group exercise classes, Club Fit’s group exercise coordinator Karen Cornetz emphasizes there are also social benefits for moms—especially mothers who stay at home.

“It gets moms out of the house and involved with other adults, especially in the winter time when we don’t get out as much,” Cornetz said. “We all need to have adult conversations.”
