<a href="https://friendsofmusicconcerts.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Friends of Music Concerts</a> is proud to present the <a href="https://www.isidorestringquartet.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Isidore String Quartet</a>, which was formed at the Juilliard School in 2019.&nbsp;“The gloriously vital tradition of the string quartet is our playground to impact the world we live in and inspire others,” is their mission statement. Recipients of a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant, they won the 14th Banff International String Competition last year. Their program will include works by Bach, Shirazi, Wijeratne and Mendelssohn.

We will begin with an opening meditation and embodied spiritual practice. Our time together will include an outdoor wisdom labyrinth walk, a healthy lunch and end with a Circle for Sacred Listening to the Other and share our heartfelt Wisdom. "...as the heart comes alive as an organ of spiritual perception, we are able to perceive the invisible kingdom of love that surrounds us – and live it into being." – Cynthia Bourgeault We will conclude at 2pm with a closing meditation born of the collective Gifts of The Labyrinth.

In this Twilight Zone-inspired musical adaptation of Hamlet, a group of theatergoers find themselves unexpectedly stuck in a production of the Bard’s greatest play – with deadly consequences! With original songs and an inventive story, Enter Hamlet truly brings new meaning to the phrase “the show must go on.” We are excited to produce an original musical for the first time on the Community Stage. This production will give actors the opportunity to develop and originate characters in a unique way. Enter Hamlet grapples with the relevance of art in our modern society, and its ability to impact our daily lives. When you read this psychological thriller with its dashes of philosophical musings woven into intricate and intimate journal entries, DR GLAS stays deeply embedded in the imagination. Published in 1905 in Swedish it wasn’t until 1963 that there was an available English translation. In 1942 it was adapted for a film in black and white by Rune Carlsten and in 1968 Mai Zetterling directed a Danish version in color. Various stage adaptations have appeared all over Northern Europe, but this adaptation by JEFFREY HATCHER, performed by DANIEL GERROLL, is the first serious American version.

Increasing awareness, raising funds, and encouraging lupus warriors!
Picnic areas, vendors, resources, activities, trails, a playground for the kids, and more! Bring your friends, family, and pets, pack a picnic lunch, bring some yard games, wear something purple (if you can!), and join us for a fun day in the park.
Proceeds support the Lupus Research Alliance (LRA).

Tables/activities beginning at 11am. There is no scheduled walk, but attendees are free to walk in the park and are welcome to remain in the park until park closing.

Wednesday, May 15th at 9 a.m. for a fundraiser supporting the Open Door
Foundation. A suggested donation is $25. 

“In addition to enjoying a yoga session at the waterfront
with one of the area’s most popular yoga instructors, you will make a
difference by raising much-needed funds to help Open Door continue to deliver
compassionate, quality health and wellness services to people throughout the
Hudson Valley,” said Laura Mogil, an Open Door Foundation board
member. 

Danielle (Dani) Locastro is the
owner of Heartful Yoga by Dani, which integrates yoga and art modalities for
cultivating creativity, healing and self-expression. An artist, textile
designer and entrepreneur, as well as a yoga instructor, Dani cultivates
individualized practices that are tailored to each student’s needs, and ensures
that they are flexible, strengthening, and engaging. She strives to help people
maintain wellness, challenge themselves, promote balance, and improve their
quality of life.

The fair will be held in historic Nyack on Sunday, May 19, from 10 to 5 with over three hundred exhibitors from four states lining downtown Main Street, Broadway and Cedar Streets. An excellent selection of arts &amp; crafts, new retail items, home décor &amp; unique gifts await you and where you will find something for everyone.
