Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in the Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville:

1. Six rental affordable housing units—two studios, two one-bedrooms and two two-bedrooms—are now accepting applications in Ossining. The 223-225 Spring St. apartments are brand new and are offering income-eligible individuals and families a chance to apply through Friday, Aug. 30. All the details can be found here.

2. The Town of Mount Pleasant is pushing back the date forthe auction of its former Thornwood Water District tanks property. According to a notice from the Town, the auction will now take place on November 15 at Town Hall, instead of September 9.

3. Thursday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the low-eighties. The UV index is "high," so apply sunblock if you're headed outside for an extended period of time.

4. "Lowey: Federal Budget Cuts Would Threaten Local Companies" was one of yesterday's most-read stories.

5. With the iconic and watershed March on Washington now 50 years in the past, Patch bloggers are sounding off on the implications, and their personal memories. Here, blogger Jackie Cassagnol shares a glimpse back at that historic day.
