Blood Drive in Pleasantville; Author Talk in Briarcliff

Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in the Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville:

1. St. John's Episcopal Church in Pleasantville is hosting a community blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The drive will benefit Phelps Memorial Hospital. Walk-ins welcome. Make sure to eat and drink water beforehand and bring photo identification.

2. Author Dr. Linda Silbert will be on-hand at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library this evening at 7 p.m. to read excerpts from her new novel Bessie's Pillow, which tells her grandmother's story of coming to New Rochelle from Russia in the early 1900s. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. 

3. Thursday's forecast: mostly sunny, with a high around 70 degrees.
