The Family YMCA at Tarrytown’s Y DANCE PROGRAM fall term begins Tuesday, September 6th. Registration is now underway for dance classes in the two-track conservatory program: the pre-professional training program, and the recreational dance program.
Y DANCE offers more than 50 classes/week in ballet/pointe, modern dance, jazz dance, tap, hip hop, creative movement, and social dance, all taught by a professional faculty with credentials in dance education and performing. Classes are offered for children, teens, and adults, levels beginner (no prior dance experience) to advanced.
Performing opportunities for Y DANCE students include the professionally-produced Y DANCE FESTIVAL to be held at the Tarrytown Music Hall in March 2012; and participation in the apprentice ensembles of EVOLVE DANCE INC.
All new students are placed individually into class according to interest, age, prior training and other considerations. All students are welcome to try a free placement class.
Financial assistance is available. Y Membership is NOT required to join the Y DANCE PROGRAM! Non-members are welcome.
