Briarcliff Rotarian Kaushik Honored: "Global Visionary Award"

The Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor is delighted - and yes, proud - to felicitate member Rotarian Surendra Kaushik, an eminent economist and educationist,  who was awarded the "Global Visionary Award" on January 13, 2014, in a glittering function in Ahmedabad, India.

Dr. Surendra Kumar Kaushik is a scholarly economist, educationist and a social worker settled in Briarcliff Manor.  A Professor of Finance in Pace University's Lublin School of Business, and Associate Director, Center for Applied Research, he is an accomplished writer on
finance and economics and an exemplary visionary with unique
contribution to women empowerment in his home state of Rajasthan in India.
The Award read, "Dr. Kaushik set up the Helena Kaushik women's post graduate college in his native village Malsisar in Rajasthan.  Dr. Surendra Kumar Kaushik has immensely contributed to women's empowerment through higher education in remote backward region.  In the last fifteen years since its inception in 1999, hundreds of young girls from poor and middle class backgrounds have obtained Bachelor's & Master's degrees in arts, science, education and Biotechnology. Helena kaushik Women's PG College, financed from generous American private donation providing free higher education's is an unique example of love, concern and service.
Earlier, Dr. Surendra Kaushik was presented India's highest award for NRI, PRAVASI BHARTIYA SANMAN AWARD. by the President of India in 2012, and the NRI society of India presented Hind Rattan Award. He is also recipient of Aruna Asaf Ali  Sadbhavna Award, and Shiromani Rashtriya
Vikas Award. Dr Kaushik Was Awarded Prestigious Jefferson awards bronze Medal by Pace University and making a difference award of the children's hope India in New York. New Jersey general assembly honoured him with assembly resolution and Helena Kaushik Women's College was honoured by New York State Assembly
