Briarcliff Rotary Sponsors Presentation on “Heal Through Food!”

The Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor is delighted to sponsor a presentation on "Heal Through Food!" on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Briarcliff Library at 6:30 p.m.  The presentation will be made by Ms. Ilia Regini, a certified nutritional healing foods chef, health & wellness advisor, teacher, lecturer, and private yoga instructor.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Ms. Regini studied nutrition through The Global College of Natural Medicine in Santa Cruz, California. She then attended 3 culinary schools: The Natural Kitchen School, a vegan cooking school, The Natural Gourmet Institute, both in New York City, and The Matthew Kenney Academy for raw food cuisine in Oklahoma.  Shortly thereafter, she added a spiritual component by taking the 200 hour teacher training through the Yoga Alliance at Sewall House Yoga Retreat in Maine.  At present, she has her own business, Healthy Nourished Body LLC, which offers cooking classes, nutritional counseling, menu planning and development, pantry make-overs and meal preparation.  She is also working on her thesis for a third Master's degree in Integrative Health & Healing.

At the presentation, Ms. Regini will discuss nutritional foods which are healing for various illnesses such as candida, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, leaky gut syndrome, diabetes and auto-immune diseases as well as foods which are advantageous for overall good health for our gut.  She will also address the the importance of consuming various foods as part of our diet on a regular basis, which foods to avoid, and the invisible repercussions of negative thinking and stress.  Time permitting, there will be a Question and Answer session.
