On Saturday, December 14, 2013, The Briarcliff Manor Garden Club placed a wreath at the Blue Star Marker in the Clock Pocket Park on Pleasantville Road, in Briarcliff Manor. At exactly 12 noon, holiday wreaths were placed on the graves of Veterans across the country, which included Arlington Cemetery as well as other participating cemeteries at home and abroad. Every garden club, nationwide, that had a Blue Star Marker, participated in this noble effort to memorialize those that have gone before us in defense of our country.
The Briarcliff Manor Garden Club's Blue Star Memorial Marker was dedicated September 8th, 2012. The marker honors all of our service men and women, who have devoted their lives to the service of our country.
As we go about our daily lives, our service men and women protect our shores, protect our skies and protect all of us 24/7. The placing of the wreaths is our humble way of saying thank you, we appreciate you and all that you have done for us.
