Briarcliff Manor Leaf Pick-up Slated for This Weekend, Next Weekend

Briarcliff Manor residents curious about when fallen leaves will be picked up now have an answer.

Village Manager Philip Zegarelli addressed the issue in his Friday, Nov. 22 report.

“As previously planned, our leaf pick up has been accelerated,” he said. “Augmenting our work week routine, we have our DPW leaf crews out this coming Saturday and Sunday to catch up on the peak leaf drop of the last two-to-three weeks. We will also have a follow up series on the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.”

Residents or their landscaper can also bring leaves (and only leaves) to the village DPW recycling yard between the hours off 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Zegarelli said the annual goal is to have the village clean of all its leaves before Christmas.

“The sudden leaf drop of the last two-to-three weeks has piled on to the current abundance of leaves,” he said. “Every year we plan for two weekend pick-ups and a second loop throughout the village until finished: before Christmas, our annual completion date.”
