Get Out: Farm Tour, Afternoon of Opera and Minnie Mouse Masquerade

A list of local activities for the weekend of April 2 & 3.

The weekend is on the horizon, and while the coming of spring seems to have been delayed, there are still plenty of ways to get out and enjoy what Westchester has to offer over the next few days.

Why Go: It's not just about the Holocaust—films showing this weekend include Anita, Nora's Will, The Matchmaker and others as part of the center's annual series, which has a focus on music, Jewish noir and great writers this year.

Pricing: $11 Nonmember adults; $6 member adults; $6.50 children; $8 students

Where/When: /Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Just more than two-hours-long, this Puccini film features opera-singing Wild West characters set to the accompaniment of The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.

Where/When: /Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Why Go: Not only can you get a head start on some spring cleaning by getting rid of outdated electronics (and make room for the iPad 2), but proceeds from the drive will help fund scholarships for college-bound SHHS students.

Pricing: $10 disposal fee for TVs and CRT Monitors only.

Where/When: The Westchester (125 Westchester Ave. White Plains)/Saturday, April 2 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Why Go: This family-friendly celebration features Disney-themed activities, games and crafts in honor of the upcoming debut of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie's Masquerade on the Disney Channel. There will also be live entertainment for all to enjoy.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: in Pleasantville/Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

Why Go: The community theatre's benefit will be a SoHo-Style Lounge Party, featuring a professional tarot card reader and live auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Axial Theatre Company.

Pricing: $35

Where/When: in Tarrytown/Saturday, April 2 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Get a behind-the-scenes look at a local farm, its workers and the livestock and agriculture that keep it going.

Pricing: $15 adult; $9 youth
