Get Out: Tennis, Art and Snowshoes

A roundup of regional events for the weekend of Feb. 12 and 13.

It's Thursday and sunny, so here's hoping the weather allows us to 'Get Out' this weekend. Patch has rounded up some great events happening in the region this Saturday and Sunday.

1. Snowshoe Hike

Where/When: Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 pm - 2:30 pm.

Why Go: Children six and up will love getting some fresh air and strapping on snowshoes (provided at Teatown if you don't have your own). A naturalist will guide your expedition!  Don't forget to call 914-762-2912, ext. 110 to make a reservation.

Price: Free for members, $5 for non-members.

Where/When: The Katonah Museum of Art, Saturday, Feb. 12, 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Why go: For the chocolates (provided by in Katonah, in Pleasantville, in Pleasantville, in Mount Kisco, and Sweet Delites Pastry Shop in Somers); for the chance to win a raffle prize from ; and for a nostalgic rememberance of your first kiss, during a performance with artist Marcy B. Freedman.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 for KMA Members and Facebook Fans, and $25 for non-members.

3. Meet the Authors of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow in the 20th Century

Where/When: , Sat. Feb. 12, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Why Go: The comfort of a small-town bookstore mixed with some local history makes for a perfectly relaxing Saturday. Not to mention The Jacob Burns Film Center is barely a block away.

Pricing: Free. The book sells for $21.99 at www.arcadiapublishing.com.

Where/When: , Sun. Feb. 13, 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Iyaba Ibo Mandingo is a painter, poet, writer and playwright and will be putting on an original one-man play and poetic performance. All admission from the program will go towards the HVWC's scholarship program.

Pricing: $15 per person, first come, first served and all proceeds are tax-deductible.

Where/When: , Sat. Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a night of friendly competition and gambling to benefit Open Door Family Medical Centers. Also included is a full buffet dinner and free use of Club Fit facilities.

Pricing: $125 Individual; $225 Couples; $300 Tennis Court Naming; $400 Poker Table Naming
