Grab & Go Kids Planner

Meet an author, groove to Simon & Garfunkel, or take a hike.

As my front lawn is once again covered with a blanket of white, I'm dreaming of a sunny day in the park. Alas, here's hope that this is the last weekend we'll need to find indoor activities to fill our time! For those hoping the snow melts, we have one outdoor activity. 


Where/When: Sunday, Mar 27 at 2 p.m. at the Ossining Public Library
Why Go: Kids love music, and this acoustic folk duo will perform the harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel, including Mrs. Robinson, Cecelia, The Sound of Silence and more. Pete Fornatele, radio host of Mixed Bag on WFUV, will join them for anecdotes and entertainment.
Pricing: Free. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

Where/When: Friday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at The Voracious Reader in Larchmont
Why Go: Teens will eat pizza and converse with acclaimed young adult author E. Lockhart, author of the Ruby Oliver series. For kids ages 12-14.

Kid's Hike at Westmoreland Sanctuary
Where/When: Sunday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at Westmoreland Sanctuary in Mount Kisco
Why Go: It's great to bring the kids on a hike geared for them—enjoy the leisurely pace and fun exploration. Let's just hope the snow melts so we can see the signs of life popping up!
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: On Sunday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at the
Why Go: Shock your children by introducing them an era of music before Bruno Mars was even born! Enjoy a swinging salute to a mix of all great music genres from Big Band to Bandstand, including a Jersey Boys medley.

Why Go: Are your kids thinking about taking up an instrument? Let them hear the kids from the Music Conservatory of Wetchester play music, demonstrate each member of the string family, and even let kids see, touch and try the instruments.

Kids Movie at the Burns Center: Ever After
Where/When:Saturday, March 26 or Sunday, March 27 at 12 p.m. at the
Why Go: Older kids (it's rated PG-13) will love this modern Cinderella starring starring Drew Barrymore and Anjelica Huston as the mean step-mother.
Pricing: $1 kids, adults $11, members $6.


Where/When: Saturday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenburgh Nature Center
Why Go: Kids ages 2—7 will delight in 's entertaining show as she gets the little guys singing, dancing and thinking about water conservation.
Pricing: Members $2, Non-member $6 per person. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required by calling 914-723-3470.
