As the second day of Brooke Astor's estate auction continues in New York City today, the AP has reported that day one brought in $8.7 million.
The second day of the auction featuring more than 900 pieces of art, jewelry, silverware and more continues today at Sotheby's in Manhattan.
According to the AP report, as published on lifeinc.today.com, the auction was initially expected to bring in between $6-9,000,000.
The proceeds from the auction will benefit some of the philanthropist's favorite charities and organizations, including All Saints' Episcopal Church in Briarcliff Manor.
