A stark difference to last week's sun and heat, the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert for the area today.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Westchester County through 2 p.m. today.
A cold front is bringing in showers, thunderstorms, wind gusts and heavy rain, according to the NWS. The Pleasantville-Briarcliff Manor area could see around a quarter of an inch of rain, hail and damaging winds, with a high temperature of 76 degrees today, according to the NWS.
Around Westchester, there is potential for "urban flooding. Isolated flash flooding will be possible as well," the alert states.
The next few days look similarly dreary, though with less of a chance for thunderstorms. NWS Thursday will be the first "mostly sunny" day of the week, with a high of 86 degrees.
