Time Capsule Unveiled at The Club at Briarcliff Manor

Future retirement community is current under development in Briarcliff Manor.

Future residents and friends gathered at site of  last week to enjoy the annual barbecue.

The former Kings Colley site is currently being developed as "a distinctive fee-for-service continuing care retirement community," according to a statement from The Club.

When complete, there will be 325 apartments, townhomes and villas on the 59-acre campus for retirees.

A crowd of more than 100 was treated on August 8 to a special announcement at the barbecue: "the unveiling of a time capsule to be installed near the cornerstone at The Club’s groundbreaking."

Before King's College, the site housed the Briarcliff Lodge, which will be commemorated with a 1902 original brochure in the capsule. Items from The Club will also be included in the time capsule, including a virtual tour DVD.
