Wind and Weather

The National Weather Service says gusts could bring down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages.

Expect winds of 50 mph gusts up to 60 mph and watch for downed tree limbs and power lines, says the National Weather Service.

The NWS has issued a special weather statement about a line of rain storms marching east across the Hudson River into Westchester this morning.

It has also put a Wind Advisory in effect until 2 p.m. The strong winds could prove dangerous for higher profile vehicles, according to the NWS, so drivers are encouraged to exercise extra caution while out on roadways.

Winds are expected to be sustained between 31 and 39 miles per hour during the advisory.

With the humidity at 93 percent, temperatures should reach an unseasonable 72 today.

It should be a nice if changeable weekend: partly sunny and 66 tomorrow; sunny on Sunday but the NWS is predicting a high of just 48.
