Your Weekend: Jazz, Shopping, Willy Wonka and More

Here's a list of events happening in the area over the next few days.

Just like that, it feels like summer. Kids are graduating, summer work Fridays are back, and we're all enjoying the pools and beaches. There are so many amazing community events in our area this weekend, so if you are here, come out and see your neighbors and support the villages!

Where/When: on Friday, June 3 at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 5 at 2:30 p.m.
 
Why go: Who doesn't love the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl? You"ll find yourself singing with your kids "Oompa Loompa..." Plus, if you plan on attending Friday's performance, there will be a "Chocolate Factory" set up in the Middle School Library for all to enjoy, with treats and a golden ticket raffle.

Why go: With new Westchester County , clean out more of your clutter by dropping off everything from old cell phones and batteries to computer monitors and televisions at the village recycling center. Plus, everyone who participates will be entered into a raffle to win two tickets to the !

Where/When: on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 at 12 p.m. Also showing on Saturday, June 11.
 
Why go: Enjoy this classic film, sure to excite kids and adults alike. Everyone will love the story of the car with special power.

Where/When: Business district of Briarcliff Manor on Thursday, June 2 from 5-8 p.m.

Why Go: It may not be the weekend yet, but the Briarcliff Manor Chamber of Commerce is hosting its , where many businesses in the downtown will be offering specials and there will be live jazz music at four locations for all to enjoy. Among this month's specials are $6 mojitos and $5 sangria at , wine tasting at , 20 percent off all toys at the , 25 percent of cigars and humidors at and plenty of refreshments throughout the village.

Parade

Where/When: Village of Pleasantville on Friday, June 3, beginning at 7 p.m.

Why go: The annual celebration features the village's lineup of trucks and volunteer firefighters, as well as those from neighboring departments. Head outside to the center of the village to watch the procession go by, ending at the Washington Avenue headquarters.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Memorial Plaza on Saturday, June 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go: If you're looking for ingredients to perfect that summer recipe, chances are the market will have some of the freshest options around. Plus this week, there will be live music from Susan Kane and a magic show by Mario the Magician at 10 a.m. See of the market from last week, opening day.
