Pleasantville Gets Air Time in 'The Blacklist' Premiere

Producers relied on Pleasantville's "sweet" feel for a scene in last night's otherwise intense pilot.

The southern half of Pleasantville's Washington Avenue fulfilled its role as the "sweet" backdrop for a scene in the premiere of new NBC drama The Blacklist last night.

90210 alum Ryan Eggold appears in the tense—and at times, pretty gory—pilot in one of the few scenes that offers reprieve from from the kidnapping-turned-bombing plot that keeps stars James Spader and Megan Boone busy.

In the scene, Eggold, as FBI Agent Elizabeth Keen (Boone)'s seemingly normal husband, exits a storefront labeled "Wood Acres Adoption Agency" as he speaks on the phone with his wife about their adoption appointment.

Clear shots of Jacob Burns Film Center surfaced during the scene, and Eggold spends some time leaning on a Pleasantville parking meter as he speaks with her (check out a photo of him shooting the scene back in March here).

Also in the pilot, Pleasantville's Breaking Ground Dance Center served as the backdrop for a scene where Keen picks up an official's daughter from ballet class (see above photo).
