While the neighboring village of Sleepy Hollow is often associated with tales like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and its Headless Horseman, now Briarcliff Manor is getting its own creepy connection.
The FX show American Horror Story's second season takes place inside the walls of an asylum called "Briarcliff Manor."
"Set in 1964, American Horror Story: Asylum takes us into a Church-run haven for the criminally insane, ruled with an iron fist by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange), a nun with a troubled past," according to the FX website. "Inside this locked down facility, danger lurks around every corner. From Nazis and serial killers, to mutants and aliens, no one is safe inside these walls."
The series also stars Sarah Paulson, James Cromwell, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Lizzie Brocheré, Zachary Quinto and Joseph Fiennes. Ryan Murphy is the series co-creator. He also created other hit television shows including Nip/Tuck and Glee.
"In the trailer, fans meet Teresa (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) and Leo (Adam Levine), newlyweds taking a haunted honeymoon tour," The Huffington Post reported. "Their last stop? Briarcliff. And so begins the flashbacks."
American Horror Story: Asylum premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10 p.m.
