Star Spangled Carousel to Scale Back Storefront, Keep Online Shopping
Star Spangled Carousel, a kids' and infants' clothing store that has been an Armonk fixture for about 30 years, plans to get smaller.
Owner Susan Cardillo told Patch that most of the building will be leased out, although the amount is yet to be determined. Her shop will maintain a presence in part of the building, while keeping its online sales operation at starspangledcarousel.com, which has been running for about seven years.
The space is roughly 2,600, includes a vast collection on three floors and attracts shoppers from around the region, including the Chappaqua and Mount Kisco areas. Meanwhile, the website does international sales, Cardillo said.
Cardillo is an owner occupant of the building, which is at 462 Main St.
With a smaller physical footprint, the shop is currently holding a clearance sale, featuring items at 75-percent off.
Five Armonk Spots in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week
Armonk will be well represented at this year's Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, which serves to highlight top places to eat throughout the region. Event runs from March 11 to 24, based on folks making reservations to participating places.

New Member of Douglas Elliman's Office
Real estate company Douglas Elliman announced that a new team member has joined its Armonk office. Helen Katz is described as a top agent and a marketing specialist. Her resume includes having started her own real estate marking company.
Katz is a Westchester County resident of about 20 years, the announcement notes, and has experience in the New York and south Florida markets. Her previous experience includes working at Bradgate Associates, which has a specialty in multi-unit homes, and at Morell Brown, which focuses on commercial contracting.
Douglas Elliman in Armonk is located at 404 Main St.
Adopt A Dog, Moderne Barn to Get New Parking Lot
Adopt A Dog, at 23 Cox Ave., received approval from the North Castle Planning Board for building a 31-space parking lot.
The planning board gave site plan approval for the project at its Jan. 28 meeting, minutes note. Adopt A Dog will share the parking lot with restaurant Moderne Barn, which will have connected vehicular access.
