Prestige Auto Wash Introduces Racing Track [VIDEO]

Briarcliff Manor business looks to attract families and racing enthusiasts to "cutting edge" track.

When Eric Cavalieri moved his business to at the old SAAB and BMW dealership on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor, he wound up with an enormous space that used to be the showroom for the car dealerships. Not being in the car sales side of the auto industry, he had the challenge of deciding not to do with the space and how could he turn it into an income-producing space.

Enter slot car racing, a popular sport in Westchester—and until now, a sport dominated by Elmsford Raceway on Route 9A. Cavalieri's new Winner's Circle Raceway in Briarcliff Manor has enhanced the slot car experience by opening its doors.

Cavalieri is ready to excite and challenge experienced race car enthusiasts and novice racers alike. The level of detail on his cars makes one feel like a driver in the Indianapolis 500.

"I'm looking to create a family 'go-to' spot for our community and surrounding neighborhoods," he explained in an email. "We are bringing back the era of 'interactive' hobbies, instead of watching tv, playing video games or spending hours on the internet."

Winner's Circle Raceway is a 115-foot-long, eight-lane Carrera Race Track. With a computer controlled timing system and a 25-foot-long suspension bridge, Tappan Zee Bridge, look out! Each lane has the ability to be regulated independently of the others, so an inexperienced racer can have the power modified so his car stays on the track, without affecting the other racers. This unique ability to regulate an individual track adds to the fun and excitement of the racing experience, allowing the car to stay on the track instead of flying off at every corner. As the racer gains experience, the power to the car can be increased, requiring another level of skill to keep the car on the track, all the way up to full power where even the most experienced racers will be challenged on this track.
