Trattoria 160 Brings Italian Cuisine to Pleasantville

The new Italian eatery's chef and owner come to Pleasantville from Manhattan's Valbella.

"I just want to bring good food and a fun atmosphere to Pleasantville," said Dave Morganelli, the president, owner and managing general partner of Trattoria 160, Pleasantville's newest eatery.

The Marble Avenue restaurant opened its doors after a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce Tuesday afternoon. Trattoria 160 has taken over the space formerly owned by Louie Linguine's, which closed about a year ago.

Morganelli, an Ardsley resident, decided to branch out on his own after working at Manhattan's Valbella restaurant as general manager for the past 10 years. He brought along with him Chef Joe Giordano.

"I had always been looking for a good town with a nice location," he said, and 160 Marble Ave. fit that bill perfectly.

Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer agreed.

"This is an anchor spot...it has been waiting for a family like yours," he told the Morganellis.

Westchester County Legislator Michael Smith (R—District 3) was also on-hand for Tuesday's ceremony.

"I'm trying to make Dave to make a promise to me and the community that he's only going to be very successful," said Smith, who also mentioned the "high visibility" and "a lot of traffic" the restaurant's location allows. "Thanks for your trust in Pleasantville, thanks for your trust in Westchester County."

Trattoria 160 has a spacious indoor seating area and a menu offering a variety of Italian appetizers, salads, pasta, entrees and grill options. There are also daily fish selections and daily dessert specials offered, as well as a full wine menu.

Appetizers include a Charcuterie with a variety of prosciutto, copacolla, soppressata and more ($14); salsiccia—homemade sausauge over escarole, barlotti beans and shaved ricotta salata ($11) and clams oreganata ($13).

Entrees range from traditional spaghetti carbonara ($19) to veal chops ($33) and filet mignon stuffed with prosciutto and Fontina cheese ($27).

"We hope that you will be prosperous for many years to come," said Chamber of Commerce President Bill Flooks. "I look forward to having many meals here."

Trattoria 160 (579-2126) is open from 12 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 12 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
