It's Too Darn Hot!

Get the scoop on the hottest treatments to combat unruly "summer hair."

Is the heat and humidity getting to your hair? There are several options one can do to combat swollen, frizzy summer hair.

If you are spending a lot of time in chlorinated pools or ocean water, you're well aware of the stress placed on your crowning glory. Lets face it, the thought of taking out the blower and blowing your hair is probably the last thing you want to do.

I've come up with several options to make your summer more enjoyable:

1. Keratin treatments are a fantastic way to trim down the drying time and getting you out the door faster to enjoy your summer days. "K" treatments only coat the hair shaft with Keratin bonds to smooth the hair. Companies are putting more money into research and development to give you the highest quality end result. Do you want to combat frizz? This is a great service that provides you with smoother sleeker hair for up to two to three months. I like to perform this service on teenagers and first time Keratin clients.

2. Color glossing allows for freshening up summer stressed hair. It seals the cuticle of the hair and deposits a beautiful sheer color hue to your hair hair. It's a great quick fix.

3. Nygele treatments. When my clients visit me at the salon, I perform this moisture and protein treatment on the hair to repair summer0stressed hair. This treatment is from Japan and it delivers spectacular results. The treatment is done in the salon as a conditioning treatment. I send you home with five ampules of this treatment to be conducted once a week in the privacy of your own home. It repairs your hair up to 60 percent.

As I've said in past blogs, it is key to use the proper shampoo and conditioner your colorist/stylist recommends. We know hair and we know how to take care of it. Listen to your trusted stylists; he or she would never steer you in the wrong direction. Your hair is our calling card and healthy shiny looking hair is our main objective.

4. Malibu chlorine treatment. I find the majority of my Westchester clients have well water. This can be a nightmare for blondes. The iron and minerals found in the water have the ability to turn your hair brassy (an ugly reddish cast). The Malibu treatment pulls all of the mineral buildup of the hair shaft. This is safe enough for children and a must if you have a pool and the kids are in it constantly. I perform this treatments on competitive swimmers.

So, there you have it. These treatments keep my clients coming back for more. Happy clients are the best clients.

Feedback is always important, if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my blog.

Happy Summer!
