Health & Fitness

Fun = Growth

I love the outdoors and while I’m not fond of shoveling snow I love to snowboard. And I’m fortunate that my entire family loves the outdoors. This year is special as I’m getting to enjoy time on the snow with my family, especially my son and daughter who will be heading off to college next school year...so this may be our last mid-winter break together for a while.

Having fun and enjoying the company of others are positive experiences and this applies whether in a family or group setting. The UMAC After-School and Summer Camp experience is developed in the same way...to have fun in a safe and engaging way, creating positive experiences to promote individual growth.

Group activities foster children’s social skills, encourages new interests, develops an appreciation for physical and creative activity, and builds confidence. Supplementing these activities with the Martial Arts is a great 1-2 punch that improves a child’s overall health, well-being, self-esteem, and integrity.

Children who participate in summer camp experience positive emotions which make them “feel good”, broaden and build social relationships, and strengthen personal development.
