Membership Drive is Under Way at JCC on the Hudson's Men's Club

As the campus enlargement at the JCC on the Hudson moves closer to a formal "ground breaking" later in 2013, its Men's Club is embarking on a growth program of its own.

An informal discussion of current events is planned for the next meeting of the Men's Club to be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 9:45 a.m.  Prospective members are encouraged to attend this meeting or any future meeting as a guest of the club. The Men's Club meets weekly at the JCC facility in Tarrytown (located adjacent to the Doubletree Hotel).

"Usually at a meeting about current events, we talk about what we've read recently in the newspapers or seen on television," Elliott Topp, executive director of the club, said. "But there are really no restrictions on what topics are covered."

The Men's Club's invitation to prospective members is intended to help acquaint them with the club members and programs. Guests are invited to participate in the current events discussion.

Upon arrival, visitors should check in at the reception desk where they will be directed to the meeting room. Bagels and coffee are served at 9:45 a.m. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and runs about an hour although many members often stay afterwards to socialize.

An annual membership in the JCC is a requirement for membership in the Men's Club. A JCC membership costs $75 for seniors; membership in the Men's Club requires an additional cost of $60 per year. Women are welcome to attend any meetings as guests of the club.

The JCC on the Hudson campus enlargement program includes expansion into the neighboring former GM (General Motors) Training Center, now reduced to a shell. The new complex will occupy over six acres with building square footage increasing from 17,000 to 75,000.

More information about the Men's Club can be seen in "JCC on the Hudson's Men's Club Offers Invitation to Sit in on Meeting,"  Rivertowns Patch, June 13, 2013.

Guests are advised to take the driveway to the parking lot at the rear of the building. The entrance is located at the back of the building.

The JCC on the Hudson is located at 371 South Broadway, Tarrytown, NY next to the Doubletree Hotel and opposite the Mobil gas station, 914-366-7898, www.jcconthehudson.org
