Briarcliff Nursery School is without a doubt an exceptional pre-school! The staff are incredibly warm, caring and flexible, yet provide a structured and nurturing environment that promotes learning and social development. I wouldn't have sent my children anywhere else!

Briarcliff Nursery School!!! Both of my daughters graduated from BNS, and our family feels so fortunate to have been a part of such a wonderful, caring school. The staff is exceptional and the learn-through-play philosophy creates a fun, creative, social and academic environment. Many of my daughters' best friends are the ones they made at BNS!

As a early elementary teacher in the Briarcliff Manor School District I found the Briarcliff Nursery to be the best choice for my family. Briarcliff Nursey School truly supports each child in a stimulating and nurturing environment. The cooperative involvement required by the school was easy to handle even in my family with both my husband and I with full time jobs. I miss BNS and so do my children.

Briarcliff Nursery School... I just completed my seventh year with three children, I will truly miss this unique hands-on school. The nurturing staff is wonderful and the play yard is fantastic, like no other! The relationships my kids and I formed thru BNS are some of the closest friends my kids and I have today... great kids, parents and families!

Briarcliff Nursery School! The amazing, dedicated teachers and director truly embrace our children and let them be kids. Through play, especially in the huge play yard, the children learn the social skills that will allow them to navigate successfully in kindergarten and beyond. BNS has provided such a warm home for my kids and our family. We will miss it next year!

there is no question that the christian nursery school is the best in briarcliff. ms joanne has a reading and writing program that ensures that the children are more than ready for kindergarten. the whole staff is amazing.

Christian Nursery School in Briarcliff by far!! It is an amazing Pre-school with wonderful, loving, dedicated teachers all with Masters degrees in Reading & Writing. It is a creative and nurturing environment. I loved all the enrichment and extended day classes, and field trips they have to offer as well. I was blessed to have my son graduate from there, and can't wait for my daughter to attend the 2's program!!
Donna Gallo June 20, 2012 at 08:32 pm
The Christian Nursery School exceeded all my expectations-and they were high! When your kids can't wait to wake up in the morning and rush off to school, I think that speaks volumes. Both my children were so well prepared for their entry into the Briarcliff's elementary school that their teachers knew right away where they had attended. CNS nurtures each child's intellect, encourages creativity and socialization and teaches each child how to be a good little citizen. I wish every parent and child could have the experience our family had.

Christian Nursery School, hands down! This school not only provides a nurturing and safe environment, but it taught my daughter to read and write through its enrichment program. She is now going into second grade and reading at a fourth grade level thanks to Ms. Joanne. The school also offers many different types of classes: Creative Movement, Music, Zumbatomics, cooking, science... Not to mention the Christmas pageant for the four year olds! I love this school and highly recommend it! I vote that Christian Nursery School is the BEST in all of Westchester County!
Stephen June 21, 2012 at 01:55 am
Stephen, Without a doubt Christian Nursery School is the best in Briarcliff or the surrounding area. Both of my daughters attended nursery school at CNS and I believe that because of the dedication of the teachers in this school, both of my daughters have benefited greatly in their continued education at Todd School. The teachers take a sincere and dedicated approach to assuring that your child enjoys learning and actuallly learns the basics which help them to continue to learn and want to learn.

Christian Nursery School is the best pre-school experience for my 3 and half year old son, that incorporate's a hand-on, multi-sensory, integrated curriculum with exposure to the arts. Music and Creative Movement teachers visit the school on a weekly basis and they have been a great inspiration for my son, whom very often asks to listen to music instead of watching DVDs. His favorite things are playing guitar and dancing. Christian Nursery School offers enrichment programs: Ms. Joanne has the best reading/writing program, "Little explorers" Science classes, Zumbatomics (children's Zumba) and cooking classes. Our thank you very much to the wonderful staff, as they are all very caring and loving to the children and the parents. www

Christian Nursery School is by far the best. My son was already reading and writing before K and he was already exposed to science, music, zumba and much more! He enjoyed the multiple field trips during community week and loved the ability to have some great extended days! I cant wait till my 2 year old starts the 2s program in the fall!!-Jen

Christian Nursery School!!! They know how to nurture the mind and the soul.
Rich June 22, 2012 at 01:22 pm
Christian Nursery School is THE BEST! It has been serving the community for 28 years with a well rounded hands-on curriculum for 2-4 year old children teaching them about the love of God, fostering self-esteem, helping them identify their individual strengths, and celebrating each other's gifts and talents. Family participation is welcomed and encouraged. The teachers are great!
Cathy Artinian June 22, 2012 at 01:44 pm
Christian Nursery School! This is an OUTSTANDING school with warm loving teachers, who provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Both my children have graduated reading, writing some words, but without feeling any pressure to do so. The teachers are fabulous on every measure. As an added bonus, they are PEANUT FREE, and work tremendously well with families of food allergic children to provide a safe environenment, whatever the food alelrgy (we ahve multiple). I can not say enough good things about CNS!
Vincenza June 22, 2012 at 03:33 pm
Christian Nursery School. The Director and the Staff are so very caring and amazing. They provide personal attention to each child within a a safe, nurturing and happy environment allowing each child to grow at their own pace. My children thrived there and were so very ready for kindergarten.
Joanne O June 22, 2012 at 09:49 pm
Christian Nursery School. My son looked forward to going to CNS each and every day. They have a fabulous playground for my son who has tons of energy. The classroom environment is stimulating and friendly. The artwork that the kids produce is very creative and always explores a new theme. He took part in the extra curricular pizza days, zumba dance, baking days, music class. The Christmas pageant and 4's graduation were outstanding and we were all amazed at how the kids learned so many lines and songs. We had a great experience there and I would recommend CNS to any parent.

Christian nursery school. My daughter graduated this year from CNS. We all had a great experience with the preschool. Great field trips throughout the year, reading , writing, dance, pageants, science, baking. CNS has so much to offer for your children. The best place for kids to be.
Meredith June 27, 2012 at 03:33 pm
Christian Nursery school offered a wonderful preschool experience for my eldest daughter. The teachers are terrific and do a great job of the learn through play technique. The school offers extended day which is hard to find at other preschools. Children are exposed to music, art, science and reading/writing.  The children attend field trips with a lesson surrounding the experience. The school also has a large gym area and playground to keep kids active and socializing with their peers. The end of school picnic is a blast for the children and their family. The families and teachers at CNS work as a community. We have since moved and my husband and I compare all the preschools for our younger daughter to Christain Nursery School. We have yet to find one that even comes close.

Briarcliff Nursery School has been an amazing environment for both my twin girls (just graduated the school) and my now 2 year old who is in the 2's program. The play yard is amazing space where creativity, socializing and adventure occurs everyday. The teachers are not only highly educated but also integrate so much learning of the fundamentals through play and projects, that my twins are so ready for more than ready for elementary school. I have been involved with various committees and find the community strong and so helpful in our everyday life here in Briarcliff Manor & Pleasantville.

Actually, it would be terrific if State Officials intervened - to investigate Paul Wasserman, LouisRead More Linder and their operatives. Be careful what you ask for counselor, you may get it - in spades!
McKey Rivers June 19, 2013 at 06:09 pm
Sal, your arguments regarding the newly elected school board member are fantastical. Do you reallyRead More think the intelligent people of Briarcliff were tricked by Messers Wasserman and Linder when your fellow Board member and running mate, Jon Satran, garnered the most votes of all the candidates or is it more likely that most people simply did not want you back on the BOE and that is why you lost the election? Your ham handed handling of Superintendent Miller and abysmal Borad meeting attendance record are among several factors that contributed to your defeat. You still have a chance to turn a negative into a positive by admitting that it was wrong for the Board to attempt to frighten the community into approving the first budget proposal.
Mickey Rivers June 19, 2013 at 06:59 pm
The FAKE McKey Rivers has an absolute fixation with Sal Maglietta. Kind of creepy in a way. If IRead More were Sal I want to have McKey identified for the purpose of a restraining order. Sal Maglietta spent the past three years proving he has more integrity than your entire circle of nasty, ill-mannered friends. Now stop impersonating me. I am the REAL Mickey Rivers.

This would be wonderful - I dread trying to drive to any of the schools that way. What about a leftRead More turn lane on to Pleasantville Road from 100 for school days? It might help those of us who live so close and yet have to drive in the opposite directions to reach the schools!
Tim June 14, 2013 at 07:53 am
Great idea in the mean time while we wait another 10 years maybe drivers could keep to the left whenRead More turning left, instead of blocking peeps trying to turn right. Also drivers need to stop blocking the entrance to Dunkin donuts etc.
Mickey Rivers June 11, 2013 at 09:52 am
Mr. O'Reilly is asking good questions in his post. I respect him for his approach. These areRead More difficult questions and as school districts continue to be squeezed at both ends (spiraling cost of benefit and pension costs at one end and tax-cap compliance choking the revenue side at other end) they will all continue be faced with these difficult questions. If school districts wait too long to develop reasonable decision trees to solve these issues, then our meddling friends in Albany will feel compelled to swoop in and screw it up royally. It is in our collective best interests to begin work now to develop and apply a thought process and resolution matrix to this issue before Albany does it for us. That requires two things. First, communities must put aside their differences and work together in a "non-partisan" manner toward local solutions that work for their district. Next, districts must collaborate and share ideas in an effort to share their ideas and help each other. At the moment, no one has the answers to Mr. O'Reilly's questions. I respect him for asking these questions and not offering solutions or opinions in his post. I also respect him for not calling out any particular district as we all all know these are issues that all districts faced this year universally. This issue will begin to compound annually if we all don't find a way to pull together and work towards solutions.
Lisa Jenner June 11, 2013 at 10:26 am
As a retired school teacher who is collecting a pension (to which I contributed for many years) andRead More is still using benefits (to which I contribute), let's remember that it is not only the teachers' pension and benefits that are squeezing the school budgets, but also, as the Briarcliff BOE pointed out, all those unfunded mandates. All of the BOEs have their hands tied regarding so many of their expenditures, that they will have to cut programs. Excellent questions, Mr. O'Reilly.
Mickey Rivers June 11, 2013 at 03:30 pm
Unfunded mandates are also a big issue for school districts. However, the teachers pensions andRead More benefits are a huge issue that must be addressed and recalibrated. It is time for teacher's pensions and benefits to be remodeled to look like those in the private sector. In the private sector, pensions are all but extinct - replaced largely by 401(k) plans (and in the case of teachers 403(b) plans where contributions are made by the employee. In terms of health benefits, in the private sector most companies pay a maximum of 60% of an employee's health care (and other benefits) premiums - not the 80% that is paid by school districts for teachers. This is financially unsustainable and needs to be addressed before it bankrupts school districts.
robin June 11, 2013 at 10:52 am
Mr. Borrel-Sorry if I came across as confrontational, that was not my intention. You should handleRead More your concerns as you think is best, however, I don't know what you will accomplish voicing your opinion in the Patch. It should also be noted, according to several high school teachers, that there are students who bring budget discussions into the classrooms.
Jay Borrel June 11, 2013 at 11:29 am
Thank you for your comments. I am sure that students do discuss, but the educator should addressRead More from a neutral stand point, just like an open discussion about religion or other politics.
Lisa Jenner June 11, 2013 at 12:25 pm
As a former high school teacher, I was constantly fending off attempts by students to divert me fromRead More teaching, and current events, local or otherwise, were a popular means to this end. Having said that, I, too, have heard of teachers "pontificating" about the budget, which, of course, is totally inappropriate. Let's hope the teachers in Briarcliff do know better and that the administration keeps a watchful eye. On a totally different topic, I have to laugh, Robin, at you looking in the directory for Mr. Borrel. The directory is my first resource for all people Briarcliff, forgetting they might not have children in the schools.
JanFisher June 8, 2013 at 10:05 pm
This is truly progress. Will both of you be taking down your negative comments now to really andRead More meaningfully get the ball rolling and to move beyond mere words? It will be good work when it is backed by real actions. I have not posted anything negative this entire time so really nothing has been accomplished yet except promises to behave. But I am truly glad that both of you are now committed to a standard of decency in public exchanges. Have a great weekend!
Lisa Jenner June 8, 2013 at 11:41 pm
I have read and re-read Mr. O'Reilly's thoughts on the BOE meeting and I will try to be fair aboutRead More this. I will admit that Mr. O'Reilly used some choice adjectives (strange, mysterious, nefarious) and asked a couple of somewhat inflammatory rhetorical questions (Will Mr. Wasserman serve his BOE time on the baseball diamond?), but I would suggest that if you disregard the rhetoric, he has presented a fairly factual presentation of what transpired at the meeting. Do you disagree?
JanFisher June 9, 2013 at 05:54 am
Lisa - my decision to write at all was out of excitement about the opportunity to help infuseRead More decency into these public exchanges. I have had my say and it has been positive. Quite honestly, I think the community at-large and the Briarcliff community are really tired of all of the public infighting on the Patch. I am committed to our schools and children and I choose to use my very limited free time and energy to volunteer for the schools when I can. Again, I do have many opinions and would love to speak with you in person- maybe we can do some good together. My cell - 439-0203.
