A driver stopped for speeding on the Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor on Thursday has been charged with felony drunken driving, according to State Police.
Patrick J. Quigley, 49, of Poughkeepsie, was stopped at 5:30 p.m. by a state trooper from the Hawthorne barracks for going 80 mph in the 55 mph zone and for failing to use signals. Police said Quigley was found to be intoxicated and had an open alcohol container in the car, which also had an expired state inspection sticker.
Quigley was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, because of a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, police said.
Quigley was released pending an Aug. 8 hearing in Village of Briarcliff Manor Court.
