This year’s Westchester Crossword Puzzle Tournament is Friday, September 27, 2013, 7:30pm-9:45pm at the Westchester Table Tennis Center, 175 Tompkins Ave., Pleasantville, N.Y. The event is directed by Will Shortz, Puzzlemaster and Crossword Editor for The New York Times and is sponsored by The Village Bookstore of Pleasantville. Delicious desserts, coffee, and tea will be offered to all contestants, courtesy of Pleasantville Fund for Learning (PFFL) board members. Entry is $30 for individual, $45 for a doubles team, and $5 for spectators. Registration is available in advance at The Village Bookstore, by mail, and at the door the night of the event. All event proceeds go to the Pleasantville Fund for Learning, which for 20 years has supported educational innovation in the Pleasantville Schools through grants to teachers and students.
