Community Corner

Briarcliff Manor FD - OPEN HOUSE

The Briarcliff Manor Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps is hosting an Open House this Saturday April 26, from 12-4 pm at our Firehouse next to Village Hall.  We hope that families (dads, moms, and kids) will come join us to see our apparatus, try out gear and equipment, spray the fire hose, practice getting safely out of our simulated smoke house, experience the state police rollover car, enjoy free hot dogs and burgers, and participate in other demonstrations and activities.   Most importantly, we hope you will come and chat with us, see who we are and what we do, and maybe even consider becoming a member.

The BMFD is staffed entirely by volunteers from the village and adjacent towns.  We are local folks who train and serve without compensation other than the  satisfaction of helping our community.  We are grateful for the opportunity to help our neighbors and appreciate the support the community and village continually show us.  Our Open House this Saturday is one means of saying thank you.  It also is a means of letting you see that what we do is something that you too can do - all you need to do is give it a try.  It is wonderful to be a volunteer in something so valuable and to participate in an organization that is bigger than the sum of its parts.   Please come to our Open House and enjoy the activities with your family.  Please consider becoming a part of the Briarcliff Manor Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps.

Sincerely,
Bob O'Hanlon
Chief, Briarcliff Manor Volunteer Fire Department
