Sospiro Winds in a Roaring Twenties Concert at Pleasantville Chamber

Music Society Event Jan. 19


The Pleasantville Chamber Music Society’s thirty-seventh season continues on Sunday, January 19, with a concert featuring the Sospiro Winds. The concert, which is free to the public, will be held at the Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Rd., Pleasantville, NY.  It
begins at 3:00.  The program
features four pieces from the 1920s:

·      George Gershwin:
Three Preludes (1926)

·      Paul Hindemith: Kammermusik (1921-1928)

·      Kurt Weill: Songs
from The Threepenny Opera (arr. Kay)

·      Carl Nielsen:
Quintet (1922)

Hailed a “superb ensemble”
by New Music Connoisseur, New York-based Sospiro Winds has established itself
as an exciting new force on the chamber music scene. Originally formed in 2004,
the ensemble began performing while at the Yale School of Music. Since then,
Sospiro has continued its efforts to bring the wind quintet repertoire to many
varied audiences throughout the United States.

Sospiro Winds consists of
wind soloists Kelli Kathman (flute), Carl Oswald (oboe), Romie de
Guise-Langlois (clarinet), Adrian Morejon (bassoon) and Alana Vegter (horn).


Free parking is available at the church, in nearby municipal lots, and on the street.
