Free Webinar: After “Close Reading” - Using Web Tools to Engage Students in Multiple Ways to Examine Text-based Information

The New York State Common Core Standards emphasize “close reading” of informational texts. In this webinar we examine ways that the new literacies can be used for readers to closely examine textual information. It is widely known that understanding is improved when information is examined with a variety of lens. We present ways information from “close reading” of texts can be examined by creating visual organizers, collaborative post-it boards, digital drawings and comics, and multimedia presentations through resources such as popplet, wallwisher, drawto, comiclife/makebeliefcomics, Animoto.
