Adopt a Pet for Free at the Briarcliff SPCA This Weekend

Have you been waiting for just the right time to add a new member to your family? Well, this weekend might be a good time to see if your future cat or dog is living at the SPCA of Westchester.

"The SPCA of Westchester will be waiving adoption fees on June 1st and June 2nd for any animal adopted out that came into our shelter as a local stray or owner surrender," the Briarcliff Manor-based organization announced today. "The hope is to get as many homeless animals into forever homes this weekend."

This special event is partnership between the SPCA and Maddie's Fund, a national animal rescue group that will donate the expenses to cover the adoption fees for every cat, kitten or dog that finds a new home on Saturday or Sunday.

Anyone interested in adopting must still go through the SPCA's usual adoption application process.

All animals are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered, according to the SPCA.
