Ossining Twins Win Bronze

2,090 sets of multiples attended the Annual Twins Days gathering in the Midwest.

A pair of Ossining area twins snagged the bronze metal at the annual Twins Days Festival. The fest is held every year in the Ohio town of Twinsburg. 2,090 sets of multiples, which included twins, triples, quads and quints, attended the gathering. The Guinness Book of World Records says the Twins Days Festival is the largest known gathering of twins in the world.

You may already know one of the twins. He's Ossining School District Director of Cultural Arts Bradley Morrison. Bradley is also the head of the Westchester County School Music Association's Elementary All-County Band. Patch posted a story about him last July.

"Winning the medals is a lot of fun, but the best part is meeting new people from all over the world and sharing our common experiences as twins," said Bradley.

Bradley's twin brother, David, works at in Briarcliff Manor. David says attending the Twins Days was a special treat.

"It's fun to be a bit of a celebrity for a weekend," said David. "Everyone wants pictures with everyone and we're all just so happy to be there."

Last weekend's Twins Days gathering featured 64 contests. Categories included most alike, youngest, oldest and farthest distance traveled. David and Bradley took part in the "Most Alike Males" competition for individuals age 27-43, where they snagged a bronze medal.

Twinsburg, Ohio is between the towns of Cleveland and Akron. It got its name from the Wilcox twins, who donated the land for the town square back in 1817. The twins were so similar that only their closest friends could tell them apart.
