Pleasantville Football Champs Rake in Holiday Spirit

Still fresh off the cleats of its 2013 season that ended in a Section I Class B championship, the Pleasantville High School Varsity Football team recently continued another tradition: giving back.

Varsity members put rakes and leaf blowers to good use as they were joined by their coaches and parents in their annual community service project, which this year, entailed clearing the leaves off the yards of several of Pleasantville’s senior citizens.

Last year, the team assisted in the post-Hurricane Sandy clean-up efforts in Breezy Point. In addition to doing a good deed, the team was rewarded with the NYSPHSAA Section One Community Service Award.
