Next week we will be replacing the cooling tower on the roof. This work will require us to close on Tuesday, Sept. 18 (the day that a crane will be on-site). It also has the potential to disrupt services on other days of the week. If the scheduled work is not completed on Tuesday we might be forced to close on Wednesday and we will not have air conditioning Monday through Friday.
As with the demolition phase of the project, this portion is weather dependent—heavy rain and/or thunderstorms will force a postponement. If the weather allows, this is our projection for the week:

Main Library – No Air Conditioning; if possible normal schedule (10-9)
Tuesday
Main Library – Closed
Branch Library 10-8
Wednesday
Main Library – No Air Conditioning; if possible normal schedule (10-6)
Possibility of closing if Tuesday’s work has not been completed
Thursday
Main Library – No Air Conditioning; if possible normal schedule (10-9)
Friday
Main Library – No Air Conditioning; if possible normal schedule (10-5)
As we are closing on Tuesday for safety reasons we encourage you not to visit to return materials. All materials due Tuesday can be returned the next day with no fine.
We will update the message on the Library’s telephone system. Because of the uncertainty we recommend you call before you visit the Library.
