Businessman and Presidential advisor calls Izzarelli “the type of leader we need in Albany.”
OCTOBER 15, 2012 — Kim Izzarelli has been endorsed by Harry Wilson in her bid for the New York State Assembly. Wilson is well known for his 2010 campaign for New York State Comptroller, as well as his role as an advisor to President Barack Obama on the Auto Industry Task Force.
“Attitude is everything. That’s why I believe Kim is the type of leader we need in Albany,”Wilson writes. “Her depth and level of knowledge in the pension and employee benefit arena is invaluable. Our state legislators vote on these complex issues, but few truly understand the long-term fiscal implications of their votes. Some call that voting for unfunded mandates. Kim calls it for what it is, and it's the heart of her campaign: ‘If you can’t pay for it, you can’t afford it.’”
The endorsement comes days after the official announcement that Izzarelli has been included in a list of six statewide candidates supported by New Yorkers for Growth, the statewide organization that focuses on fiscal discipline in Albany.
“I am honored and humbled to receive Harry’s support,” said Izzarelli, “In 2010, Harry started a dialogue across New York about real change in our state finances. We are continuing that conversation in the 95th district in 2012.”
Despite being outspent 8-1 by a 33 year career politician, Izzarelli’s campaign has been profiled as a competitive one in Westchester and Putnam counties. Izzarelli is a single mother of two who spent fifteen years in the private financial sector.
