Izzarelli accepts another debate against 33-year politician Galef
September 12, 2012 - Assembly Candidate Kim Izzarelli says she is ready and eagerly awaits a much-anticipated debate with Assemblywoman Sandy Galef on October 22. Izzarelli has pressured Galef for over a month to appear at a public forum with her to discuss issues affecting the 95th Assembly district.
The forum will be hosted by the Putnam County News & Recorder at Haldane High School in Cold Spring from 6:30-8:30 pm. Federal and state candidates were invited. Izzarelli has accepted.
PCNR's associate editor Annie Chestnut and Editor-and-Chief Douglas Cunningham will moderate the debate, as well as provide topic questions to the candidates.
A 33 year career politician, Sandy Galef has dodged two debates already this cycle. WVOX 1460AM hosted a forum for the two candidates on August 20. Peekskill Cablevision followed on August 30. In both of these debates, Assemblywoman Galef was represented by an empty chair. The two candidates are confirmed to debate on October 29, conveniently nine days before Election Day.
"I look forward to discussing the issues affecting our community with Sandy on October 22," said Kim Izzarelli. "As far as we know, she has not rejected the debate, but she has not confirmed. My hope is that she will make time in her schedule to accept my debate challenges."
Kim Izzarelli is a single mother of two who spent fifteen years in the private financial sector.
