NEW OBAMACARE LIES

Here we go again!

Here we go again.  Midnight, March 31 marked the end of the open-enrollment period for ObamaCare.  The Obama administration is criss-crossing the airwaves with new lies about the program.  Liberals, with their talking points in hand, are out en-masse in the Liberal media decrying the latest lies.

So, what are Obama’s latest lies?  We may as well begin with the biggest, fattest lie of all:   The claim that 7 Million people have “signed up.”  This is patently false.  Or, is it blatantly misleading?  It depends on how you define “signed-up.”  If you define “signed-up” as people buying and paying for a plan, then the statement is a blatant lie.  If you regard “signed-up” as people entering their information into the website, then choosing a plan and putting it in their “shopping cart,” but never coming back to purchase and pay for it (pay any premiums), then the Obama statement is absolutely true.

In ecommerce (shopping online), there is a statistic called the Shopping Cart Abandonment Rate.  This is the percentage of time people shop, put something in their shopping cart, but never complete the purchase payment.  According to the Baynard Institute, the average Shopping Cart Abandonment Rate is 67.91%.  This is an average taken from 27 very credible sources.  The lowest of the 27 studies is 55% and the highest over 80%.

The administration has made it clear that when they site statistics on “sign-ups,” they are talking about the number of people who put a plan in their shopping cart, NOT the number of people who completed the purchase by paying for the first premium payment.  If average ecommerce statistics hold true, then 67.91% of these 7 Million people did not actually purchase a healthcare plan.  The number of people who actually purchased a plan is therefore likely to be about 2.25 Million.  Far, far below the goal and far, far below a level that allows ObamaCare to exist without massive infusions of tax-payer dollars.  Your tax-payer dollars and mine to subsidize a plan that is supposed to subsidize itself.

We are entitled to answers to the following questions.  But, rather than lie to us, the Obama administration is simply not giving the public any answers:

  • How many people signed up AND paid their first premium as of the enrollment deadline?

  • Of those who signed up and paid, how many already had insurance but were cancelled because they got caught up in the “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” lie?

  • How many found their premiums went up and were thus duped by the “Every American household will save $2500 per year” lie?

  • How many found they could not keep their doctor and/or hospital and thus were duped by the “If you like your doctor/hospital, you can keep your doctor/hospital” lie?

  • How many found they got less coverage, higher deductibles, and higher co-pays or had to pay for things they just didn’t want or need?

  • How many are in the coveted group of the young and healthy whose out-sized premiums are necessary to subsidize the old, poor and sick?

  • How many previously were uninsured?  After all, isn’t that what this was all about?  30 million Americans were going to sign up for free and/or heavily subsidized healthcare insurance.

  • How many are Medicare or Medicaid recipients who are now just coming in through the exchanges?

  • Why did the site crash repeatedly yesterday?  How many hundreds of millions need to be spent to build a simple website that anticipates and accommodates peak traffic?

  • Has the website been properly secured to properly protect the very personal data people must enter to obtain a plan?

  • Have the interfaces with insurance companies been fixed or is the system still wrought with errors in transmitting information to carriers to give people the correct plan and coverages?

  •

The next lie to deal with is the close of the open-enrollment period.  For those who are unaware, that is a lie as well.  One simply needs to claim they had technical difficulties with the website and the deadline will be cheerfully waived.  After all, who wouldn’t believe a user had technical difficulties with the most expensive website ever built?

    Why is all this important?

Because it’s not supposed to work.  Because ObamaCare is just an intermediary step to what is being called a “single-payer” national healthcare system.  A single-payer healthcare system, in English, is a FULL GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER of our healthcare system.  One sixth of our economy, and growing, is the healthcare sector.  There are TWO reasons this administration wants a full takeover of the national healthcare system:

    1. As previously stated, it is one sixth of our economy.  The government wants to run their fingers through, and find a way to tax, every one of those dollars, and

    2. It is central to this uber-Liberal administration’s Socialist model of the future of the United States.  Vladimir Lenin wrote:  “Socialized medicine is the cornerstone of the arch of the socialized state.”  In other words, once THEY control YOUR healthcare, THEY control YOU.

Mid-term elections are here in just a few short months.  It is time to sweep out any elected official who supported ObamaCare in any way, shape or form.    Period.
