Michael Austin Kerins, 82, of Thornwood

Michael Austin Kerins of Thornwood, NY, passed away August 4, 2013.  

Austin was born on August 30, 1930 to Mary Ann McDonagh and Patrick Kerins in Tubberbride, Collooney, Sligo Ireland. He is survived by his 4 children, Lisa McLoughlin, Michael Kerins, Deb Gerry, and Kevin Kerins along with his 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 7 siblings, Eithne Weir, Breege Bergin, Dympna Harrison, Paddy Kerins, Donal Kerins, Dermot Kerins and Francis Kerins.

Throughout his career he was a horse trainer, a bus driver for Liberty Lines, and most recently, a house sacristan at Holy Innocents since 1985. Austin was a great father, brother, grandfather and friend to everyone. He very much loved his family, friends and the church. The family would like to thank the good sisters and clergy at Rosary Hill Home and Holy Innocents for their compassion and generosity.

Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, August 8th at 10AM at Holy Innocents located at 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville NY (914)769-0025.
