Visiting Hours, Service Set for 2 Sprain Crash Victims

The Port Chester community is mourning the loss of two young women this week.

By Liz Giegerich

Port Chester's Restepro and Gomez families are doing something that is unimaginably difficult and tragically sad this week—holding visiting hours and services for their their young daughters who were well loved by the community and their friends. Julianna Restrepo, 18, and Fernanda Gomez, 19, were among the four killed in a deadly car crash early Sunday morning on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh.

Visiting hours for Julianna Restepro will be at Craft Funeral Home, 40 Leicester St. in Port Chester from 5 to 9 p.m., today, Sept. 4. Fernanda Gomez's family is not holding visiting hours, but only a service on Saturday.

Port Chester Trustee Luis Marino was close with one of the families and has been helping them to make arrangements during this difficult week. The Gomez family was not financially prepared for such a loss and can use any kind of help community members are willing to offer, he said. If you would like to make a donation, contact Marino at LMarino@portchesterny.com.

We will post details of funeral services once we receive them.
