Girls Inc. Westchester to Honor The College of New Rochelle President Judith Huntington at Power of the Purse

Judith Huntington, President of The College of New Rochelle, will join a star-studded line-up of prominent Westchester personalities as an honoree for Girls Inc. Westchester’s annual Power of the Purse on November 14th, 2013 at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff, NY. Sharon Epperson, CNBC’s Senior Commodities and Personal Finance Correspondent, will host the signature event. 

 

Among this year’s Purse-O-Nality role models are: Renee Brown, President and CEO of CW Brown Inc.; Gigi Fernandez, Olympic Gold medalist and member of the Tennis Hall of Fame; Stacy Hobson, PhD, “Research Scientist” at  the IBM  Thomas J. Watson Research Center; and Judith Huntington, President of The College of New Rochelle. For the first time, a “few good men” – actor Michael Boatman (Spin City, ARLISS, and China Beach) who is currently appearing in the FX comedy series, Anger Management, and former MLB executive, Jimmie Lee Solomon will also be applauded for their commitment to the advancement and well-being of girls. Our distinguished designers are: April Bukofser & April Marin, Mihe Coe, Elizabeth Harlow, Michele Gunn, Nina-Michele Roberts, Rolando Sanchez and Alexandra Satine.

“What better role models could our girls have than the extraordinary Purse-O-Nalities we gather to honor,” said Sally Baker, Executive Director of Girls Inc. Westchester. “Girls Inc gives girls the confidence and skills they need to reach their potential. Our special guests affirm that strong, smart, and bold girls can grow up to be anything they want to be, especially with strong women and men like this year’s Purse-O-Nalities as their advocates,” she said.

Power of the Purse

The fun-filled program features cocktails, dinner, a designer boutique, a silent auction, and a live auction of one-of-a-kind handbags, designed to reflect the personalities of the honorees. The evening’s highlight will be hearing from several members of the Girls Inc. Westchester Leadership Council. Girls Inc. Westchester inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Programs encourage girls to resist stereotyping, to explore, to grow, and to realize their full potential.

 

All proceeds from the signature event support afterschool programs for girls throughout the County.

 

Tickets to the 5:30-9:00PM event include cocktails and dinner, a live and silent auction

Individual Tickets: $250

Sponsorships: $2,500, $5000, $10,000, $15,000, and $25,000. Deadline: November 1.
