It's Time to Stop

As a Briarcliff Manor School District resident, I only ask one thing; let's stop listening to loud mouths who don't seem to get it. Paying more taxes will not improve scores. It's not going to help your children get into a better college. It's not going to improve the quality of teacher, sports programs or education. It will only do one thing, allow the district real estate value to decrease. We can definitely do better with what we have. It may mean asking the teachers for more creative ways to teach. It may mean thinking twice about some of the extras, but all of us know in our hearts that the only real issue is $$ and how much more can we give. Yes, many of us have few issues with affording this hike, but the issue is not the amount but the thought that you can keep asking for more. If other districts can provide quality education on a less cost per student basis, why can't we. What are we doing wrong? With this in mind it is clear that the current board must do better in reworking a budget. Why re-elect them? New isn't always better, but in this case it has to be. I don't know about you, you can follow the lead of Mr. Valenti or you can vote with your head.
