Letter: Thank You Pleasantville DPW

A Pleasantville resident thanks village DPW workers for their storm response efforts.

To the Editor:

I would like to commend the Pleasantville DPW response to Superstorm Sandy, the nor’easter, and the following snowstorm. They did a fantastic job responding to each storm. They were out there tirelessly trying to keep our roads open and our facilities functioning. During the day they continued garbage cleanup. They maintained recycling, and they were “above and beyond” on collecting branches and leaves.

Recently the Village engaged in a discussion about privatizing a portion of DPW. Our taxes may be a few bucks higher, but compare our Village DPW response to towns outside the village. Our crew blew them away.

And stop and think for a moment—they did this while suffering the same storm issues, problems, damage and demands as you. But they showed up and did what was required.

Thank you Village Employees.
