Readers' Choice Winner: McArthur's American Grille

Patch readers have chosen McArthur's as the best St. Patrick's Day venue.

Of the four Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor business choices, McArthur's received 40 percent (total of 11) of the votes.

Doug Crosset, who also co-owns—with his partner Scott Pires— in Pleasantville (which received 10 votes in the poll) and in Katonah, said he was pleased to have his establishments named as the best place to spend St. Patrick's Day in not just one, but two communities.

"We got lucky—there are so many long-established places in the area that are great places to spend the holiday, like in Pleasantville and in Katonah," he said. "But I think it's not so much about the place, it's about the people."

Crosset said his restaurants are unlike some bars and taverns in that the whole family is welcome.

"You see neighbors, the kids see each other in the game room, everyone's relaxing. We do this all year-round and it's evident on St. Patrick's Day, too, when everyone's a little bit Irish."
