2013 Pace Football Promotions Schedule Released

The Pace University Athletics marketing department announced on Tuesday the 2013 Pace Football promotions schedule for the upcoming season. The Setters have four home games this fall with October 26 at 1:00 p.m. against Assumption College marking the annual Homecoming game on campus. This year's Homecoming celebration also includes the 50thAnniversary of the Pleasantville campus with festivities planned from Thursday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26 for students, parents, families and alumni.

To kick-off the 2013 campaign the Pace Football team invites youth football players ages 8-12 to participate in the annual DJ Henry Youth Football Clinic on Sunday August 25 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There is no cost for the event and each participant will receive a Pace Pups Kid's Club pass which grants free admission to each home game during the 2013 season, schedule magnets and free food from local sponsors.

Each participant will be taught drills on both offense and defense by the 2013 Pace Football team and coaching staff. Last year's youth clinic included over 130 youth players from surrounding towns such as Pleasantville, Briarcliff, Tarrytown, Ossining and Hartsdale. The first home game for the Pace Football team is set for Saturday, September 21 against American International College with kick-off at 1:00 pm. The home opener will feature Military Appreciation Day as all service men and women will receive a free ticket to the game and will be recognized during the pregame ceremony. Each member of the military will receive Pace Football apparel prior to kick-off for attending the game and will meet the team prior to warm-ups. In addition a "Welcome Home" day for all Pace Freshman will be added to the promotions schedule for the first time. All Pace students will receive free Pace "Wayfarer" sunglasses at the ticket gate while supplies last. Students with the best "Welcome Home" Instagram photos that are tagged with the #GoPace are eligible to win a limited edition Pace Football camouflage t-shirt. Winners will be determined at halftime and will be messaged via twitter to pick-up their prize. Halftime will feature a performance by the Pace University Drum Line.

The second Pace Football home game will be Saturday October 12 at 1:00 p.m. against Bentley University.  This game will feature Take a Kid to the Game day with all children 12 and under receiving a free ticket to the game as well as the opportunity to participate in a halftime skills competition. This game will also feature "Sophomore Appreciation Day" as an installment of the programming specifically for sophomores throughout the month of October. Fans will also be encouraged to wear pink to this game as the Pace Football team will be joining the "Pace Goes Pink" campaign to benefit Northern Westchester Hospital's Breast Institute. The Student Athletic Advisory Committee in partnership with the student group College's Against Cancer will be selling the 2013 edition "Pace Goes Pink" t-shirt throughout the game for $5.00.

October 26 marks the annual Homecoming game as a part of the Pleasantville Homecoming Celebration 2013. Additional pregame festivities will be available for students, fans, parents and alumni including the second annual SAAC 5K Fun Run and Dean Lisa's Chili Cook-Off. The first 1,000 fans through the ticket gate will receive a Homecoming giveaway with the 50th Anniversary theme. Halftime will feature the crowning of the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen as well as a performance by the Pace University Drum Line. More information regarding additional pregame festivities, homecoming weekend and the 50th Anniversary Homecoming Dinner on Saturday October 26 will be available shortly and published to www.pacesettersathletics.com.

To conclude the regular season home schedule Pace will play St. Anselm College on Saturday November 9 at 12:00 pm which will feature Senior Day. During the pregame ceremonies each senior will be recognized for their hard work and dedication as a student-athlete on the Pace Football team. This game will also feature staff and faculty appreciation day. Staff and faculty will be invited personally by Pace Football players to attend the final home game of the regular season and seniors will be able to take pictures with their favorite professors as a part of the pre-game ceremonies.

In addition, this year all home games will be web streamed in HD on www.pacesettersathletics.com along with the radio commentary for WFAS.
