Market OPEN Tomorrow

VISITING FIBER ARTIST

Maupston Design Studios will visit Pleasantville Farmers Market on Saturday with skeins and skeins of beautiful yarns. Fiber artist Anna Upston will bring 30 - 40 yarns of her own design, and some millspun yarns from local NYS farms. Anna will demonstrate the art of spinning fibers into yarn using her wheel, and drop spindle. Consider buying one-of-a-kind yarns from Anna Upston as a starting point for a great winter knitting project. Enjoy viewing handspun yarns by Maupston Designs Studio by clicking here, or stop by on Saturday to speak with Anna Upston as she spins yarn at the wheel.

Winter Harvest Continues
Little Seed Gardens will be absent Saturday but Cowberry Crossing, Newgate Farms, Madura Farms and Mead Orchards will bring loads of vegetables and apples to suit any menu. Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse will visit with their breads and cheeses, and Bread Alone and All You Knead Artisan Bakery will have their great baked items as well. The weather suggests stews and Kiernan Farm and Crowberry Crossing have meats to suit those goals. Yellow Bell Farm (formerly Feather Ridge Farm) and Raghoo Farms will have delicious chickens for roasting. With delicious squash in the room, and apples for pies, and the aforementioned possibility of stews, you can bake your way to a warm house and great meals through the cold weekend! For a complete summary of vendors in attendance tomorrow look at our interactive Map of the Market by clicking here.

Trying to be the Best every week:

Westchester Magazine wants to know what you think. Until February 7 they are collecting votes in their annual "Best Of Westchester" reader survey. Please take a moment to place your votes for local businesses worthy of being highlighted through Westchester Magazine's "Best Of" issue in the Spring. Encourage friends to vote too! To begin click Westchester Magazine. "Farmers Markets" has been added this year as a new category (between "Donuts" and "Fine Dining" in the list). Want to vote later? Pick up a set of free Market Coasters (Collect all four!) on Saturday as a reminder to vote. They're fun, and more useful than a string tied around your finger!
