Briarcliff Manor Police: Dog Bite; Haircut Dispute

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department:

Wednesday, Aug. 14

5:46 p.m. — Police received a report of an accident involving two vehicles on Route 9A. Responding officers reported one vehicle stopped short in the right lane, causing the driver behind the vehicle to hit the car's bumper. One driver complained of minor injuries at the scene.

Tuesday, Aug. 13

10:41 a.m. — A Department of Public Works worker reported to police he was bitten by a dog while working on Marlborough Road. Police noted his left thumb had been punctured and he went to Phelps Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police confirmed with the dog's owner that the canine was up to date on all its shots. Police also notified the Westchester County Department of Health about the bite.

Monday, Aug. 12

1:41 p.m. — A resident reported to police that she was having a dispute with her in-laws over finances that are being contested with her husband in court.

Saturday, Aug. 10

9:07 p.m. — A resident contacted police and reported youths in the area of his Brookwood Drive home had approached his daughter and "had words" with her, when they indicated they may be planning vandalism in the area.

7:15 p.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Route 9 and arrested the driver, a 30-year-old Ossining woman, for allegedly driving a vehicle with a suspended registration. Police also charged the woman with driving without a license. The vehicle was impounded and she was processed and released on $100 bail with a returnable court date of August 14.

Friday, Aug. 9

12:37 p.m. — The owner of a local hair salon went into police headquarters and reported a customer was bashing her business on Yelp. The business owner told police she and the client had agreed on a hair service and price prior to the appointment and felt she was being harassed. Police said they would investigate the incident.
