A woman caught illegally inside a Briarcliff Manor resident's home Thursday afternoon has been arrested, Detective Sgt. Matthew Doherty reported.
At approximately 2 p.m., a resident called police to report she heard noises in her home while she was upstairs.
When she went downstairs to investigate, "She saw a female in the kitchen," Doherty said.
Police immediately responded to the home and arrested the suspect, who appeared to have broken into the residence, on-scene.
Julianna Fiumara, 30, was arraigned and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
Doherty said Fiumara, of St. Augustine, FL, also had a stolen vehicle with her at the time of her arrest.
"That was recovered at the scene," he said.
Following her arraignment, Fiumara's bail was set at $10,000. She remains incarcerated at Westchester County Jail, according to county records.
Fiumara is due back in Briarcliff Manor Village Court on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Doherty said the department is unsure if this incident is related to the daytime burglary reported on January 4.
