Briarcliff Police Investigate Residential Burglary

A resident reported his home was burglarized while he was out walking the dog.

A village resident arrived home after walking his dog Friday to find he had been burglarized, Briarcliff Manor Police reported.

The complainant, an Old Briarcliff Road resident, notified the department about the alleged burglary at 11:56 a.m. on January 4, according to police.

"He was out dog walking for about 40 minutes," Lt. Donald Gorey said. "When he came home, the house was ransacked."

The case has been referred to the detective and no further details were immediately available.
